I’ve been reading reviews on the book called the ‘The $1,000 Genome: The Revolution in DNA Sequencing and the New Era of Personalized Medicine’

Now that the costs related to getting a full genome sequence have fallen drastically to just US$1000 reach the masses from the original US$1,000,000,000 in year 2000.

It really seems like the book to read now, to know more about ourselves as well as to sequence our DNA, and check our genome for potential illnesses that could come our way in the future.

Can’t wait to get my hands on them!

However, I would like to share my experience with Apple.

Just look at the thickness – this is comparing to the 12″ Hewlett Packard TX1200 series.

The Macbook Air wins in being 1″ larger in screen real estate – but it’s my fault for buying the TX1200.

The Macbook Air also wins in having flash drives as compared to the TX1200 which uses hard disk drives.

The TX1200 fan ROARS – and you know what happens when I use it in the school library. Dang.

The TX1200 touch screen tablet is also not sensitive – I wonder why they even put it on the market.

The Macbook Air is so quiet and cool to the touch, I have not heard the fan (is there even any?) in the two weeks i’ve been using it.

But it could be due to the 4gb memory upgrade I added – as compared to the poor thing TX1200 2gb only.

Disclaimer: This is so not a matter of being an Apple fanboy. It’s just comparing of apples and oranges.

Okay, so actually there’s this Coach portfolio which I used for the TX1200 – this is how it looks when it’s empty.

Bottom line: I’m actually more happy with spending S$2k than spending S$1.5.

A piece of further happiness was when my Apple shipment delivery date was incorrectly conveyed to me, the customer service officer immediately offered a S$65 voucher to off-set my anguish.

You would never have seen that with HP. My HP aftersales repair support was also terrible; with tech support from India. I could have sworn I nearly killed myself.
