I have been angonizing over this one song.
Like for a couple of days. (I read some comments on YouTube and this one person took 15 years to find this song – oh dear that’s 15 years of agony)
I tried Midomi – sang and hummed on it for just about a hundred times. No less.
Came up with no matches.
I mean I cannot really blame it – after all the song does not have much sensible lyrics to begin with…
With lyrics that went like this (seriously):
Ariadiamus late ariadiamus da
ari a natus late aduaA-ra-va-re tu-e va-te
a-ra-va-re tu-e va-te
a-ra-va-re tu-e va-te la-te-aA-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we
a-na-ma-na coo-le ra
a-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we a-ka-la…
a-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we a-ka-la……..
ah-ya-doo-ah-eh
a-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we a-ka-la…..
a-ya-doo-ah-eh…
a-ya doo a-ye
a-ya doo a-ye
Then I searched for another that could provide me with an answer – came up with SongTapper!

It works by simply tapping the song out via your SPACEBAR.
I got the hang of it about the third time. It really should not be too difficult.
Then I finally got my song!

It’s by Enya (again yes I know – previously my post on Midomi also featured Enya – I guess she’s my favorite singer!) and the song is called Adiemus.
For those who wants to know, Enya’s song was a cover from Adiemus (the group/singer).
**EDIT** Many thanks to Grace who corrected me.
I went to Enya’s official discography and found this:
There are some songs available on the Internet mistakenly attributed to Enya. Some examples are Harry’s Game or Adiemus. Harry’s Game was released by Clannad and Adiemus is from a group called “Adiemus”, some songs from “Enigma” were labeled “Enya” as well. There’s also a bootleg from Eastern Europe called “Solas”. This album was written by Ron Hardiman. The producer of this bootleg used Enya’s name for their product. Please note that on this website are listed all songs Enya has ever released.
More research on the song tells me that this song was written by a Welsh composer, Karl Jenkins.
Adiemus is the name of the song and an ensemble for Jenkins compositions.
The lyrics consists of words created by Jenkins himself and has no sense, and in which the voices are used like instruments for the music. Miriam Stockley is the person who sang the original.
This song is phenomenal. It brings us back to a time when we were free.
Free from everything around us.
**UPDATE**: I just found out that Karl Jenkins and Adiemus performed the Palladio – the same song which got Escala popular in Britain’s Got Talent!
The Escala girls are soo hot!
**UPDATE AGAIN**: Apparently there’s another string quartet called Bond – and they played the same song called Allegretto – I think they just might be better than Escala!
And the Bond girls are soo cute!
Oh dear. =))

Good post! Good to know about this music-finding tool! By the way, though–Enya has never sung Adiemus.
The song Adiemus was originally composed for a 30-second TV commercial for Delta airlines that was aired in Europe in the mid-1990s (composed by Karl Jenkins, and sung by South African/British singer Miriam Stockley and the Finnish chorus that later became known as the Adiemus Singers.)
If you like the song, check out Miriam Stockley’s latest solo album, entitled “Eternal.” The last track is a re-recording of the song “Adiemus”, and it’s even better than any other version! Such an amazing voice!
Hi Grace!
Many thanks for the correction.
The post has been corrected =))
Adiemus is a truly beautiful song.
I’m currently checking out ‘Eternal’ on iTunes!
It’s truly remarkable.
I think I still prefer the original ‘Adiemus’ though.
Cheers!
Hello, Samuel! I’m glad that my unsolicited information was helpful to you!
I’m a long-time fan of Adiemus’ songs, and especially Miriam Stockley’s songs. And I agree with your post about this song bringing one back to a time of complete freedom. It’s calming yet elating at the same time.
Anyway, thanks for the blog, and thanks for the reply!
Hey Grace! =))
Any information is still information!
And many thanks for your input =)
I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I have!
