It’s to mainly target the Chinese consumers.

Gucci used Chinese actor Huang Xiao Ming for the campaign.

First on the list would be Gucci’s first ever digital timepiece, the I-Gucci Watch, which is offered worldwide, priced at $1415.
It’s not worth getting this watch – especially when it’s digitised.
If getting a watch from a luxury retailer,
and I don’t mean renowed watch retailers like Tag Heuer,
just Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and the likes.
I would go for Louis Vuitton’s Tambour Chronograph collection, an example is this:
At least it’s not digitised – digitised is plain cheap and not worth the dough.
Another of my lust would be the Rolex Cellini Prince in White Gold:
I know, I know there are lots of other good watches like Breitling, IWC, Panerai, etc, but I felt that this watch from Rolex is very different from their other watches – The Cellini Prince is understated luxury that can be relied on possibly lifetimes after yours.

The “8-8-2008 Limited Edition” collection also includes a unique bicycle, with bold red double GG leather details – my gosh – it’s hell hideous. I doubt it’s even a mountain bike.
Why the heck they came up with this idea is beyond my imagination when the rich in China are switching over from bicycles to cars.
The poor in China probably can’t even afford this bicycle for their transport.

I actually like this concept as playing mahjong at your friend’s house suddenly becomes something to look forward to – even though I still lose alot of money. LOL.

To pay homage to China, a panda in soft leather – it’s just about one of the uglier bears i’ve seen coming from a luxury retailer.

There are also shoes in fugly and off-beat colourways.
What the hell was Frida thinking when she successfully steered Gucci’s beautiful classic designs like the sneaker above into something completely _____.

I hate the Olympic China Torch Bloody-Red colour on their bags.

I love Gucci and their classics.
Their 8-8-2008 Gucci collection is disappointing.
They catered too much to the Chinese’s taste this time round.
