i just purchased a m-audio 88 key board and pedal from amazon using borderlinx. The calculator in their website gives very decent figure and cheap! Amazon have all items on shipping weight in their websites.

Upon payment and delivery to borderlinx, wrong move... my item weights both were increase 1.5kg and they charged me taxes!!!!

Total sum is almost equal to what i can purchase in singapore! might as well i go local to buy! doesnt make sense.. now i am in the risk of paying gst because of shipping and product above $400..

I will not use borderlinx again because they are not honest with hidden cost, customer service officers just cant bother to help you solve the problem.. terrible....

Remember people! product taxes should be charged from merchant, not on behalf of you by borderlinx, their invoice did not indicate. Citibank also cant be bother to help...

Anyone have similar issue with me can help?

After a recommendation from a friend, I decided to order a bag using borderlinx concierge service.

When the bag was ready to be release for shipment, the shipping charges are SGD64! The volumetric weight was 6.49kg.

Their total cost calculator was not accurate at all! The estimated weight given by them was 2.94kg. And now it has turned to 6.49kg. ( They might as well take away the calculator. It only mislead users thinking that the shipping charges will only be that much )

I'm really disappointed at the way they calculate the shipping charges. No way am i gonna use their service again! =S

Hi Jen,

I understand your frustration.
It is pretty difficult for us to investigate if we do not have details of the specific shipment (ie product, box dimensions) . We use a volumetric weight calculation which is standard in the air express industry. If your package was 20x14x15 it would dim at 14 kg. This size box seems pretty large for a 4kg item but we have no way of knowing if it was in an unnecessarily large box etc.

Some eshop seems to use standard box no matter size/weight of the items you're buying to them. You can then receive a large box for a tiny items.

We actually investigate the possibility to offer a repacking service to our customer in order to avoid those kind of issue.

Regards,
